Nokia Slide 6760: A Pretty Basic 3G Phone Underneath

The Nokia Slide 6760 looks good, sounds good, and is generally a good mobile phone. Unfortunately for Nokia, being good often leads to being forgotten or lost among the great handsets in the market. This mobile phone from Nokia is not the cream of the crop; in fact, it is lucky to be considered a part of the crop at all.
The Hardware
The case of the Nokia Slide 6760 is pretty plain, especially when placed beside other smart phones, whose designs are sometimes bordering on inspired. It does come in red and white, which adds to its flare but hardly compensates for its look. Its 98 x 58 x 16 mm shapes weighs 124 grams, and has a QWERTY keyboard that slides out (it is called Nokia Slide 6760 for a reason). It has a 320 x 240 pixel display on a 2.4” screen. This screen is quite small compared to other mobile phones and its pixel display is standard.
This mobile phone also has a disappointing 3.2 megapixel camera. This camera has fixed focus, can capture video at a maximum rate of 15 frames per second (which is hardly impressive), and also lacks a flash. It is disappointing since, with all the technology available to Nokia, one would think having a decent camera would be on the list of any new mobile phone.
The mobile phone also has an FM radio capability but has a 2.5mm jack instead of a 3.5mm on, which is kind of annoying.
The Software
The Nokia Slide 6760, Symbian S60 Smartphone, does come with a variety of applications. These applications include features that support some of the more famous social networking sites, instant message capabilities, and a feature that allows it to support standard emails as well as the push email services of Microsoft Exchange. It also comes with Nokia Maps and GPS but unfortunately; this cannot be utilized fully because of the small screen. This mobile phone also does not support WiFi and has a mere 4hours of talk time on 3G.
The software beneath the outer shell only reveals what this mobile phone really is; normal, plain, and quite honestly, boring.
The Verdict
The Nokia Slide 6760 will not be the cup of tea of every single person out there. In fact, most of them will probably not even give this mobile phone a second look. This is simply because there is a whole range of other mobile phones out there that are far superior and have far more things to offer than this gadget. It is therefore not advisable for people looking for a powerhouse of a mobile phone. If you want touch screen capabilities, with an accelerometer, and impressive software, look somewhere else because you will only be disappointed with what you will find here.
Although it may not be the worst mobile phone in the market, it certainly is not the best. This mobile phone will disappoint those who will ask too much of it. However, if you are looking for a fairly normal and simple mobile phone that is more affordable and still fairly stylish, then you have found the perfect phone for you; otherwise, keep away.
